This limited series marks the beginning of a very special collaboration between us and Paris-based architect and designer Rohan Golestani. From the moment we met - me picking him up from King’s Cross in my rug van and heading off on deliveries around London - we knew this was the start of something wonderful. With shared Iranian heritage and a deep love for antique pictorial rugs, we wanted to create something that honoured tradition while speaking to our experience in the modern world. The first design idea was born in our workshop, with input from my dad - an artist in carpet weaving - who had the brilliant idea to weave our design onto 100-year-old kilims. These five pieces are the first-ever prototypes. Woven onto antique kilims with all their quirks and imperfections, they’re full of character and story. Though we initially planned to use newer kilims for the main collection (coming soon), the response to these originals has been incredible. So, while they’re not perfect, they’re available now at a special, discounted price—and they might just shape what comes next.
